Need a Software Recommendation
Hey everyone,
Im basically looking for some sort of software for extra control over my younger siblings computer, Im looking for something that can shut off access to the internet at set times, restrict any un-savoury content, and that is also password protected. I checked the stickied thread but there wasn't anything there. Thanks in advance, -sai |

There are tons of softwares to help with this. Here's a couple:
ComputerTime enables parents to set limits on the amount of time and the time-of-day when their children can use the computer. Whenever the computer is used, the user must log on with a password, and the limitations that are set for his/her account become active. You can set different limitations for each user, and also generate a list of codes (tokens) that can be given to a user to temporarily extend usage time. The user has also the option to pause time tracking by logging off or switching to Away mode. ComputerTime offers flexible limitation options, based on regular schedules, as well as daily limitations and weekend exceptions. The software provides no control over what your children are doing on the computer, the assigned computer time can be used any way they want, and does not limit or prevent Internet access. http://www.snapfiles.com/reviews/Com...putertime.html EmailGuardian is designed to protect children from harmful email. This mail server includes the ability to monitor and control email traffic in and out of your home. Parents can allow or disallow email to and from family members and for additional protection, EmailGuardian also includes rule based content filtering features that enable you to block emails that meet certain criteria. Additional features include mailing list capability, support for AntiVirus Plug-in and a Email Store and Forward Service. The Store and Forward Service enables you to have mail delivered to your server, even if your computer is offline. Also included comes browser based email access, allowing you to access the mail on your server from any web browser (as long as your machine is online). Many of the features requires the use of DNS2Go, a free IP update client that comes bundled with the download. Overall this is a very affordable package that delivers powerful mail server capabilities to home users, even if they are on a dial-up connection. http://www.snapfiles.com/reviews/Ema...lguardian.html
