Microsoft office

hi

im not sure if i put this in the right section but here goess.... i recently build a new gaming computer and i was short on word processing. i need it for school work.. etc...
I wanted to know if there is a program / site where i can download Microsoft Word (office if possible) free? i dont want any trial version but the full thing permantely. this may be too much to ask but i dont have the money to buy one.

www.openoffice.org

its similar to word and office. you have to buy any microsoft word, excel, or office suite, the best you can do is get a trial version of office.

OpenOffice is very good; just make sure if you're going to share your documents with others that you set it to save in Office 2003 format instead of OpenDocument format.

Open Office is free. $70 will get you Works Suite from Newegg, this includes Word. Word by itself is $100. Office Standard Student and Teacher is $125, this is the best deal, you can legally install it on 3 computers and it includes Word, Excel, Outlook, and Powerpoint. Maybe your parents would help you with that - they can install it on their computer too.

If you just need a word processor, not a full office suite, then get AbiWord : http://www.abisource.com/download/
It will save files in RTF so you won't have any problem sharing them with Microsoft Office using friends and teachers.

Pam -- OpenOffice saves in DOC; it just has to be set to do it by default if you want it to do that.
