restore software?
2 days ago my laptop at work took a dump. I have/had a bunch of plc programs loaded and have to pretty much reload everything. Would not even boot into windows. retore was turned off so there are no restore points. After many attempts with Ultimate Boot disk, no progress.
Reloading all the plc software(RSLogix/RSLinx/Panel Builder...ect) will take at least 2 days. So here's my question. What's the best software to make restore disks with? I mean total restore. I want to be able to pop a disk in and start the restore on a non booting windows partition. Prepairing for next time. I've seen the threads on the Acronis True Image software. Is this an all in one package for what I want. Or would Ghost be a better way to go. Thanks |

I prefer Acronis....Would highly recomend you send the image to another drive hooked up via a usb connection....Other wise, if your main hard drive dies, so will the image.

downloaded the free Acronis True Image 7 and I'm testing it now on the screwed up laptop. I'm spanning the image over 4 CD-R's. If it works, I'll back up the Image when I do the complete reinstall of windows and I have all my software loaded.
Using Acronis has been a straight forward process so far. Seems like it should be a pretty easy restore process. |
