backing up a single file
How do I backup a single file. I used system tools backup and I checked off the file that I wanted to backup. I selected my documents as the location to back it up to and I go a message saying that the backup had failed. Is this not a valid location to back up a file to? Do I need to back it up to a seperate drive such as a floppy or a disk instead of to a folder such as my documents?
Thanks |

Where are you trying to backup the file to exactly? A system critical folder? What type of file is it? If you right click it and go to properties, edit the CHMOD to 777 - in short this means selecting all of the permission boxes.

I am trying to backup a .cfg file for a flight simulator program. I tried it on one computer and I got the error message then I tried it on my other computer and it worked so something is wrong with the first one. How do I use a regular copy function as opposed to going in to the backup wizard?
Thanks |

Just right click the file and select copy, then go to wherever you want to put a copy of it and right click there and select paste.
