Nero Ultra 7 & Acronis 9
I installed (Custom install with a minimum of the features) Nero Ultra 7 and Acronis 9 will not work. When I attempt to make a Backup or try to do a Recovery I get a the Microsoft Error pop up and Acronis closes. I tired uninstalling Acronis and resinstalling but Acronis refuses to install while Nero 7 is in the system.. Says something to the effect that some program has prevented Acronis from loading. I uninstalled Nero and Acronis works fine again. Tried installing Nero Ultra once again and I'm back to the same problem.
I have deducted that something in Nero 7 is causing the problem but have no idea what it could be. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. |

Since I've had nothing but trouble with Acronis 9, do you mind if I tag along your thread, not important? I have to admit that their Customer Service did their best to help (we communicated for at least several weeks), but things never got resolved (I'm still using Ghost):: have you contact them?
PS: I could be something in Acronis that is causing the problem, too... And yes, I have Nero 7 Ultra installed also. |

I've not had any trouble with Acronis before this. I gave it another try last night but it has the same problem when Nero 7 Ultra is installed. I'm going to install Nero 7 on another PC, that also has Acronis9, today and see if it flys.
Thanks for the info TwoRails, I now know that it "should" work. |

I installed Nero 7 Ultra on another PC , that has Acronis 9, and all is well with that unit. Back to the drawing board!

I did a reformat and installed minimum programs but Acrons 9 and Nero Ultra 7 refuse to coexist on this PC. I emailed Acronis but I haven't heard back.

If you get it resolved, let us know! Like I mentioned, they were very willing to help but, sadly, my issues didn't get resolved... Good luck!!

I contacted Acronis and Nero and have yet to get a reply from either. I have never been a big fan of Nero but I expected better from Acronis.
I'm not quite sure how I resolved the issue but I now have Nero 7 Ultra and Acronis coexisting peacefully on this PC. I ran an "Uninstall" program from Nero, did a good general cleaning of my drives and Registry then did a Defrag w/O&O. I rebooted, installed Nero 7 and made a backup of my C: drive and then did a backup of my whole primary drive. I assume the Nero uninstall program resolved the issue. |

Glad you got it fixed, not important! Ya... too many strange things happen now-a-days. One day "computers" will act as expected.
