Lost programs

Does anyone know how to retrieve programs. When I go to "start" then "all programs" in XP Home edition and then to "accessories" I click on my "tools" folder, however it's empty. So, in order to do defrag or whatever I have to go to help and support and start there. Also Word perfect has gone from the srart menue. Any help is appreciated.

Go to Start/Control Panel/Add-Delete Programs. It will show you much of the applications on your computer.

Go to Belarc.com. Download belarc advisor which will also show you much of the software on your computer. Click on the red asterisk and it will show you the softwares pathway.

A Search will also show you the pathway of where much of the software is located on your computer.

Look in the Recycle Bin to see if you may have accidentally deleted the software you are looking for. You can reinstall the software from there if you have.

Defrag is at Programs/Accessories/System Tools/Disk Defragmentor

Still missing data files/tools?
Run a malware scan.

I ran XoftSpySe and RegCure plus NoAdware. So I believe with all those scans I don't have a problem with malware...thanks for the help, however I still have an empty folder in my tools folder. To run any of those programs I have to go to Help and Support and click on the Task button for the tools there.
