Office 2007 release date? available thru school discount programs?

hi all, i was wondering if anyone knows exactly when Office 2007 will be available for purchase and if this software package will be available through school student discount programs at the same time?

By report it comes out when Vista comes out for retail, January 30, 2007.
No reliable reports on edu/student edition pricing are out yet.

i am using the office 2007 suite and i like it much better than office 2003.
it's stupid that the default format is not viewable on earlier versions of office without downloading and installing an add-on.

They changed a lot of the program compatibilities. MS OneNote isn't compatible with the previous edition either.

For all you students out there, dl the trial. OneNote is one of the best purchases I ever made and I rarely purchase software. Some schools offer it for free as well, and if not the educational discount price is $50 ($25 some places).

I loaded it on mine yesterday. Not unexpectantly it seems quite a bit slower running than 2003. Outlook now has a blog type look when replying to emails. There is also a separate add-on to save as PDF which is pretty cool.
