ISP will freeze account for 25+ emails ?
I want to send non spam newsletters
(Ive read the law: identified sender, unsubscribe opt out etc ) to our travel agencies clients but my home ISP Comcast says they will freeze the account if I send anything to more than 25 addresses at one time . How can I get around that ? Even if I send it from a real email address like say: parangleswhatever@jacarandatravel.com, won't they still go via Comcast from home where I work, and get me shut down? I have bulk email software "MailList Controller" can I configure that somehow ? Thanks ! |

Might ask Comcast about a business account...
20 mails is a smaller number then 25.....(send in groups of 20)

The best way around that is ask your domain host if they have a SMTP server that operates on a port other than 25 - a common alternate is port 587. These will usually be secure servers requiring authentication.

Thanks- I am going to try going through the website domain using my @.com
address and set the output to a slow rate of say 1 messages every 12 seconds and see if Comcast wakes up or not. (about 1.5 hrs for 500 msgs) During setup of the email management software it did a test to port 25 so I guess its using that. Ezy this trial version only allows one list with a max of 100 'members', so busting up the list is not an option till I buy the full version for $100. I'll try sending after I load the lists, and get back to you if the 587 port alternative doesnt work either. |
