Backup software
I want to backup my documents onto DVD's, but I'm a bit lazy segregating or managing it to full size of the DVD. I have more than 24 GB of data to burn. I know gsplit but it has to be in zip/rar form only then I can break it into pieces, but then I still cannot access the files individually. I want a gsplit segregate fuction, but I can open the files directly. Or is it just better to manually delete files to complete 1 dvd and continue the rest on another DVD?

I'm not aware of anything that will do automatic splitting like this without storing in some kind of proprietary format - zip, rar, or something that will require the software that created it to open it.
I've used Acronis True Image to image a whole partition to DVD's - but you need to have the Acronis Image Explorer running to be able to get at individual files in the image. It's also a pain shuffling the DVD's to get the one that has the file you need. Why don't you get an external drive of some sort to use for straight drag and drop backups? |

I have an external drive, this is just for extra measure.
