Question about avp.exe file
I'm not really sure what category this falls under so sorry if this is in the wrong location.
When I try to close backround files in task manager there is this "avp.exe" file that I can't execute an "end process" command. A window pops up and says "access denied." It is using a lot of memory compared to most background files and it is showing up under "System" also. I haven't seen it before...at least not under my "User Name". Any thoughts? Thanks |

So you feel that is worth the money once you do the free scan? It gives me the feeling they find stuff you need to remove just to get you to buy the software to remove it. There has to be a way to find out if its a trojan or part of my Kaspersky virus protection. Thanks.

Let's read that with a grain of salt. Do you have Kaspersky installed? If so, it's legit and it's a Kaspersky issue. If not, you have a problem and you should scan with whatever antivirus you do have. The online scan at ewido.net is very good at picking up on Trojans.

yes...thank you....I do have Kaspersky as alluded to above. I appreciate your time Pam and GLC. I will be looking into the paid version of the scan I downloaded more closely and the one you mentioned GLC.

You do NOT need to use paid versions of any scans. There are plenty of freebies out there that do a fine job.
Bottom line, your avp.exe is legit if you have Kaspersky. |
