Copy DVD's

I just saw an ad at the top of the Hardware Forum for DVD Energy. I think that was the name. Does anyone know anything about this software? or has anyone used it?

Just curious!

The website is http://www.dvdenergy.org/index.htm?hop=omtop

Anything that alleges it can copy a DVD movie to a CD is going to compress the video way too much for decent quality. I'd take a pass on that, there's better ways to copy a DVD for backup purposes. I would not "buy" anything like this unless they offer a free trial.

Please note that just because you see an ad here for something, we don't necessarily endorse it. We use a commercial ad feed with little control over content.

Thanks, for the info. I wasn't planning to buy it. It sounded a little fishy even to a beginner like me. I didn't know that the adds being placed on the site weren't endorsed by the forum.

That is good info!

DVD to DVD copy software (not to CD)

I am looking for a DVD copy program. I have heard from friends that you can make a "perfect" copy of a DVD movie. I originally wanted to buy DVDXCopy, but according to www.dvdxcopy.com , DVD X Copy Platinum is no longer being sold. I went to www.dvdxcopyreviews.com and there are some good programs for DVD copying, but has anyone ever used one of these? If not one of these, which one do you suggest?

Do some browsing here : http://www.cdfreaks.com/
Read both the articles/reviews and the forum and find out about the freeware programs and then move on to trial versions of the programs you have to pay for.
Start by trying out the freeware first.
DVDShrink is/was a good program but it hasn't been updated in years and copy protection hasn't stood still in that time. So, while it's still useful, it shouldn't be your only option.

i used DVDXCOPY to back up my dvd collection but i cant copy Shows like "That family guy" or "that 70s show" and the movies do get copied but only the movie no menu's or special features, which is why i think it wont burn my shows because the shows have verios episodes on the dvd and it will only copy the 1st episode for every dvd. I also need to upgrade to one that will copy the entire DVD with all its options
