Are 32-bit applications/software compatible with a 64-bit OS?

The answers is supposed to be yes but, after seeing the results with XP 64, the reality is that some of them are and some of them aren't and drivers are a particular problem.
Will 64-bit Vista improve on that? I don't know but, if you're going that route, check out what does and does not run under it, over at M$'s "Ready for Vista" site, before you part with any cash. The tech guys are adamant. Unless you actually need to address 4GB or more of ram this is not an OS you need as an "average" power user. Read the pro M$ review on it here : http://www.winsupersite.com/showcase...sta_ff_x64.asp
