Marking text in Word

How do I select large blocks of text in Word 2000. I would like to copy several pages to a new document. The mouse is not acceptable.

Drag the first line with the mouse, scroll down to the end, hold the Shift key down and drag the last line. It can also be done with the keyboard arrow keys but this is faster.

Hold down shift, and press page down until you've selected just about all you wanted. Then keep holding shift and use the arrow keys to precisely mark the end of your desired selection.

It took me a few minutes to find a document long enough to try this on. You have to be careful though, as you select several pages worth of text, the page number on the bottom does not indicate the page changes so you might need to insert page numbers into the headings temporarily.
