Burning cd-rs with a dvd burner
Can I burn non-dvd data onto a dvd-r? I have a dvd burner and wanted to put a couple of files (mostly pictures and home movies) on cd for backup. My question is whether or not I can burn this onto a dvd-r or not.
Do I need to buy cd-r for this? And even if I buy cd-rs can I burn them with a dvd+/-rw burner? Thanks! |

Dvd's will do just fine. Just remember they are much larger than cd's so you may be wasting alot of space. It may be more efficient to use cdr's.

Check your specs, most DVD burners handle CD-Rs just fine, if that's what you decide to use.

thanks, I have some left over dvds which I don't think I'll be using so I"ll probably just go with those. Thanks!
