Question Photoshop Elements versions

What are the differences between PSE 5 and 4? PSE 5 is slow as heck, and I was wondering what features would I miss if I got version 4 instead.

TIA

CNet says 4 is sluggish too in their review.

Although their reviewer thinks it's the cat's meow:

Rarely do I encounter a piece of software so well designed that words fail me (at least until my editor pointed out that she wouldn't pay me for a "words failed me" review). So, I'll say this: if you need a phenomenal image editor and organizer package, buy Adobe Photoshop Elements 4.

Como estas, hermano?

All the photoshop editions (CS2, elements 5, etc) are quite resource intensive. What is your current computer's hardware configuration?

Well, the sluggishness is not the only problem here, mostly I want to know what I would be missing if I got version 4 instead of 5 because I may be able to get 4 for less money than the newest one costs.

Also, I suspect that the slow performance, especially when the program is started may be due to my firewall not allowing the program to call home. And this raises another question: does the new version must be connected to the Internet at all times while it's running? I can understand a trial version attempting to call home every time it's run, what with the "you have N days left" notification and all, but if the full version requires me to plug in to Adobe's servers every time I work, that may be a deal breaker too.
