need an Excel guru....
okay i've looked and looked in help and no luck, so i'm turning to PC Mech forums (again lol).
i want to type +$700.00 in a cell, but it thinks i'm adding or doing a formula, so when i do it, it takes out the +$ and just leaves the 700.00 - how in the world do i disable this? lol, i have been racking my brains and i know it's a simple fix... Thanks again all who help.

Format - cells - number - category - text Newer versions should be similar. |

If you don't need to use this figure in a calculation of any kind, the easiest way to do this would be to type a single quote mark before the text you need to enter. Excel will then automatically treat the entered material as text.
eg: '+$700
