How crappy is the crappy old laptop?

I'm not sure that Office 2007 uses more resources than Office 2003. I was looking at the requirements for OneNote 2007, and it can be run on pretty old and crappy machines. If it's requirements are indicative of the rest of the suite, then it shouldn't be a problem.

Worst comes to worst, you can always install the trial versions and see how that goes.

it's a 650 mhz with 128 mb of ram.

it's not mine, so i won't be able to really test it.
it belongs to my wife's friend.
it was all messed up so i installed xp on it.

she only uses it for office applications so that's all she wants installed.

*** i now realize that this is in the wrong forum. whoops.

With those specs, the proper way to set up that laptop is with Win2K and Office 2000 or 2003. It is going to be slow as snails with XP. Throw another 128mb of ram in it and that will be a different story. If the hard drive is smaller than 10mb, XP is not advised.
