Hi,
I have a problem with Microsoft Activesync v4.5. Ok, when I startup either Windows Media Player 11 or Windows Media Center, Microsoft Activesync says: Please wait while windows configures Microsoft Activesync, It does its thing than pops up with: the feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. I have uploaded a picture to show the dialog box. Whenever I press cancel it just starts over forever and ever and .... ever until I close WMP11 or WMC. I have deleted all the files I could find associated with activesync and lots of other stuff. I just want it to go away, but I also require active sync for my handheld so if anyone has any ideas, YukonMaster |

I'm gonna make a guess here. Looks like you're using Vista and I have no experience with your issue but it looks like ActiveSync isn't fully loaded. Try dowloading ActiveSyn and try reinstalling. It may just be missing a component.

Hi again,
Hmmmm I tried redownloading and I downloaded 4.2 and installed it with no problem. I have ran CCleaner, ran half a scan of Ad-aware, AVG Pro, and it is still there. Yes I have windows Vista Ultimate. YukonMaster |

When you run msconfig, is there anything in there regarding ActiveSync that would cause it to run? Maybe unchecking it would stop the pop up.

Nothing that stands out, I'm not sure if its a service thats running at startup because it just happens when I run microsoft software, I am able to use Microsoft Active Sync 4.2 with no problem but 4.5 is still trying to install. if I could find where it was installing from (there must be a file somewhere) I would just delete the file and go on with my life but, they have to make this difficult for me.

If you're brave, use the Find option in Regedit (backup first!) and try deleting a 4.2 entry.
