Norton Ghost
I know you can use ghost to copy entire hard drives but will it let you copy the hard drive to a CD or DVD as a backup? Natualy the size has to fit the media.

I assume it can - I know Acronis True Image can image directly to CD/DVD and automatically span media.
What I do is image to my external hard drive, and tell Acronis to save in 4gb chunks. Then I manually burn the image files to DVD's for archiving. |

All I want is to burn an Image of my first installation so if my hard drive ever goes out U can use it to simply image and go without having to do the xp, drivers install and all that nonsense.
I think that should fit on 1 cd if I am not mistaken. I like the idea of ghost because it works from a CD. I think Acronis has to be installed on my HD. |
