Outlook 2007 constantly in background
When i close outlook 2007, either by clicking the 'x' or 'file -> exit', it remains running in the background.
there is no icon in the tray but i can see it in the task manager. any idea what is going on and how i fix it?

Do you have any add-ins?
edit : Outlook uses word as it's engine for HTML and you can disable that but I'm not sure it will help. It seems to be based on how Outlook is set up to get mail from the server and it's mentioned as a problem since Office 2000. Several solutions came about only after updating and/or patching the version that was causing trouble.

i had that problem on my computer but i'm not sure what fixed it. maybe it was a fresh install. this problem is on my parents' computer. a repair didn't help so i'll try a fresh install. |

Do you have any PDA synchronization programs? I have ActiveSync and it'll keep outlook.exe running even after I close it.

my dad just informed me that it is working properly.
he thinks that it started behaving properly since they replaced the old ball mouse with a new wireless mouse but i'm not buying that one. i'm guessing the repair install fixed it and my dad kept complaining without checking to make sure the problem persisted. |
