WinDVD 8 plays at 720i/1080i normal DVD's?

I am using WINDVD 8 and wana know if normal DVD's can be used using 720i & 1080i upscaling... i am asking coz sum standalone DVD players do upscaling on normal DVD's.....

I am using HDTV Widescreen LCD TV..... any idea how to activate it?

Does the image quality of the upscaling DVD Players really outshines normal ones (asking when playing normal DVD's)

If you mean does WIN DVD 8 support HD, yes it does.
If you're asking will the software player upscale your regular DVDs to near HD quality, no.
Is it possible you're thinking about what Win DVD calls " Hardware Acceleration Support"?
Yes a good upscaling stand alone player can improve a picture amazingly, depending on the quality of the original DVD transfer.
