Dvd burner doesn't play sound?

I wasn't to sure which forum to post this under, so I put it here. I have a lite on dvd burner w/ nero home essentials on my computer. But whenever I try to play a dvd I can see the picture, but I can't here any sound. I can hear sound in any other application that I use, but when I try to watch a dvd I just can't hear it.

Make sure you have digital audio enabled in the drive properties in device manager. If it already is or that doesn't fix it, install the K-Lite Codec Pack.

The device manager is in Windows. Right click on My Computer and choose Properties. Click on the Hardware tab and then the button for Device Manager. Then right click on your drive in the list to examine it.

Not in the bios. Right click on My Computer>properties>Hdw tab>Device Manager>expand the cd/dvd drives>double click the drive>properties tab

edit: I just love it when two of us post at the same time!

Ok it says that digital audio is enabled so I am going to go ahead and download free codecs and see if it works.

Simply put, codecs compress and decompress data. Here's a better definition: http://www.webopedia.com/TERM/c/codec.html
