Perplexing error message at start-up
I hope i've got the right-subforum!
Title: 'RTHDCPL.EXE - Illegal System DLL Relocation' 'The system DLL user32.dll was relocated in memory. the application will not run properly. The relocation occurred because the DLL C:\WINDOWS\system32\HHCTRL.OCX occupied an address range reserved for Windows system DLLs. The vendor supplying the DLL should be contacted for a new DLL.' That's what it says and it's been coming up at start-up since the day before yesterday. I haven't been mucking around in the Windows folders either. I haven't noticed any of my programs malfunctioning and my PC seems to be running fine but I thought i'd contact you guys as it seems to be a serious error (one with the red circle and white cross logo) not to mention annoying. I can simply click OK and continue working. Any ideas of how to solve it or find how to solve it? Thanks.

No sweat. Seveal threads of late showing the same issues. Do a search for "dll relocation" and you'll see.

Yes this is a ms update that caused this to happen. I had the same problem, with the same error message. Go to control panel/ add remove programs/ check off updates at the top and scroll down untill you see your most recent update. As i don't remember the number, my error started on 4/3/07. After you find the correct one uninstall it , reboot, then run your anti spyware. I hope this will help you sum...
