Exclamation Error mesage question

i updated my Radeon x200 integrated graphics driver from the ATI site with no problems, however when i turn the computer on and windows boots up i get the ! icon and "Unable to load resources". I have nt had any problems but im going to put a video card pci e into the computer this week and need to update drivers from the same site.
What does this error message mean and how to i treat the problem. Will it affect my new installation.

Thanks anyone, Jmac

It's possible your security software is blocking something.
You could have have a corrupt file.
You downloaded and installed the wrong ATI MMC .
You installed the new drivers without removing the old ones?
Did you check for any known issues with the drivers in their release notes ?

You will need a new set of drivers for your new card.

Thanks for the pointers. I think the driver is correct because of the proccess i went through on the ati website. I did remove the old drivers fully and any ati program.

i didnt check the issues,, it could be a corrupt file, and i dont know how to correct the security blocking something.

I have taken the driver off and re installed a few times - to no avail.
Do you think it will correct itself when i uninstall the integrated video card and driver and install the new radeon pci e and driver?
thanks again

The simplest way is to go off-line and disable the security software before you do the driver uninstall>restart and disable it again and install new driver>restart.

Yes it's very likely that the steps for installing the pci-e video card will correct this.

Exclamation

I disabled security and installed driver and card, still gett the same message after windows has booted up. The card is much better, however ,other observations are: when i initially updated integrated driver from the website and from when i began to get the above "resources" problem, i think the brightness has darkened. This applies to new card as well. Also game sometimes slows when i intially start (within 2minutes) and my CA security starts flashing "through" the game in the lower right hand side and i have to close it. Then game works fine (if a little darker than previo0usly)
Shed any light anyone? - sorry about that one, j

Are you willing to do a rebuild, or registry editing with luck ?
Are there any chipset updates you haven't done?
It's possible you've got a Java problem but you haven't told us what else you've updated/done.

For the time being, since everything is working, ignore the error message and we'll hunt it down.

ok, thanks for looking. Ive tried a few things re installing new card and driver and disabling all security again. Basically back tracking but nothing works.
i think the games are darker than previously though otherwise i would nt be concerned at all.
thanks again jmac
