loading a page
if I click on a link and load a page (like going to the pcmech home page) is it on my hard drive.

Yes, it will be in the browser cache or temporary internet files.

I thought the browser cache was in the processor or was some type of ram and temporary Internet files kept in the cache

IE's temporary internet files and Firefox's cache are all on the hard drive, Opera uses both hard drive and ram caching.
