Viewpoint Media Player

Well it was installed on my computer as well without me knowing about it. I only found out when an annoying update pop-up can up which I originally thought was an advert but came up without any IEs open so I did some research. There's some conflicting reports whether it's spyware or not so I wondered if you guys had any ideas or whether it's in your program list? It didn't come up in any anti-spyware searches either.

I removed it anyway as my PC and web content works fine without it.

Viewpoint gets installed when you install software from AOL. It's unnecessary. It's not really spyware, it's just extra bloat.

Viewpoint Media Player is installed when any AOL software (including AOL Instant Messenger) is installed. It will still be there even after you uninstall AIM.

Note - moving to Gen Software.
