Registry Problems

I downloaded Registry Mechanic and it had a little over 600 errors and only fixed a few. Had no idea the registry was a problem. I have a Dell XPS 400, 80GB HD, 4GB RAM. ATI Radeon X600 256MB. I don't know anything about the registry at all. My computer does not run like I have 4GB memory.

Is there any free programs to fix all errors in my registry? If not what are the great ones?

Ccleaner has a registry cleaner in it and overall it does a good job, but I usually also use RegscrubXP when I want a throrough registry cleaning. You can find it HERE.

What Registry Cleaner does is to delete invalid registry entries. Invalid registry entries are caused by Program Uninstallers that was not able to remove the registry keys properly for its respective program. Registry Errors can also be caused by Spyware/Viruses/Worm. You may also want to ran a spyware/virus scan. Good Luck.

I have also used CCleaner and have not had any issues with it. Ccleaner allows you to backup the registry before deleting so you can revert back if you have any issues. I have also used Toniarts Easy cleaner and TweakNow. With any registry cleaner, be sure to export or back up your old registry so you can import it back if necessary.
