Anyone here heard of IOBit?

Has anyone heard of or used the IOBit cleanup program? It's one of those freeware programs that supposedly does a spyware scan, privacy scan, registry cleanup, and a ton of other stuff like that. My dad is convinced running this and a defrag is the best way to speed up a computer and that deleting old programs from add/remove is going to do damage. I tried googling it, but there isn't much info one way or another.

Never really heard of it. CCleaner is a better alternative IMO. Defragging is a bit overrated. Back in the day of FAT defragging was much more beneficial than it is nowadays. It is of some benefit but not as much. Frequent defragging can also hasten the demise of your hard drive. Add/Remove programs is the preferred method for removing software unless you have some spyware which toys with you when you try to remove it this way.
