Vista Outlook 2003 error issue

I decided on Outlook 2003 to install on the wife's Vista machine. The install went well without any errors but Outlook will not start up. I get a MAPI32.dll is either the corrupt or the wrong version. After extensive research this past weekend I have tried what I fell is just about everything under the sun.

Here is what I have tried so far.

• renaming MAPI32.dll to MAPI32_old.dll and reinstalling Outlook 2003
• renaming MAPI32.dll to MAPI32_old.dll and running detect and repair
• removing all other MS Office products and trying just to install Outlook 2003

Is there a specific version of this .dll file that is required to run on Vista?

Changed MSMAPI32.dll and ran a detect and repair and now everything is running fine.
