Folder synchronization
Hello,
I have a very large folder with many subfolders and files within those subfolders. What I am attempting to do is make a copy of it on my laptop. Im tranfering these files across my wireless network and the first time I did it it took approximatly 3 hours. The hard part is I keep adding to the folder on my desktop regurally and frequently. I would like to figure out how to transfer only the new files to the laptop instead of having it copy every file over again (since it takes so long). When I drag the folder over to my laptop it only asks if I want to recopy everything or cancel it althougher. Neither of which is a good option for me. Dragging the individual files over is not an option since I only update my laptop about once a month, when I take it on a business trip, and trying to remember exactly what files are new and exactly where I put them would be a challenge. Also, I am running XP home on both. Thanks |

SyncBack should do what you want. I have used the free version which I don't think supports networking. Here's their site:

yes, however the trial period expires in 30 days. do you know of a freeware that does the same thing that doesnt have an expiration. If not I'll probably have to cough up the 30 bucks in a month.
thanks again |

The Freeware version does not have a trial. It is a bit tough to find on their website (can you blame them?), but it is there.
Here is the download page: http://www.2brightsparks.com/downloads.html Scroll down until you see "SyncBack Freeware V3.2.14 "
