Some of you may remember the problem I had with my old AMD K6 system where it suddenly stopped running any and all 3D applications and never did again even after multiple Windows reinstalls.
I built a new rig a couple weeks ago and moved my former top rig (Athlon XP 1800+) into the spot formerly occupied by the K6 system. Now, while the problems are not of the same nature as the K6 system, games seem to be dropping like flies on my Athlon XP system. Several games have quit working even after reinstalling. Medal of Honor, which was the first game I ever ran on the XP system, will no longer play. When I try to run it I get an error message that says "You must have a video card with multitexturing capability" and the game shuts down. Age of Empires III says it cannot create a log file, access denied. Call of Duty UO keeps reverting to default settings.I just don't get it. I never had any of these problems before moving the XP system onto the cart/desk previously occupied by the K6 system. Is this desk cursed? I haven't reinstalled Windows XP yet but I didn't really want to. It looks like I will have to.

There is another thread where just certain files disappear / have trouble... I'm beginning to wonder if it's a new malware of sorts...??? Have you scanned for drive errors and do a full AV scan, etc...??
