Question Moving Kodak EasyShare to Another Drive...

I currently have the Kodak EasyShare program (v.4.02) set up on my Drive C.
My OS is W2K. EasyShare parks my downloaded EasyShare 7330 (camera) picture
files via USB to the ...MyPictures/ MyDocuments/EasyShare folder on Drive C.

But these EasyShare files are eating up my space on Drive C like nobody's business!
How can I move the EasyShare folder to another drive (Like Drive D) so I can download EasyShare files to it there? As I recall, it didn't give me the option of putting the program elsewhere.

The EasyShare manual doesn't give any options for changing the path to
the EasyShare folder, and I'm leery of just monkeying around with this application without a clue to its proclivities (i.e., is C: the only drive allowable for downloading EasyShare files?)

Thanks for any suggestions!

Have you tried right clicking on the file you want to move and dragging it to a destination folder? Do that and select "move here". Easy Share should direct the saved files there without a problem. Or you can move your entire My Pictures folder the same way.

If I move the entire MyPictures folder from C:--where the W2K Install originally placed it--to another drive, EasyShare won't "squawk" and play dumb about the new location?

For that matter, the OS won't object, either?

Thanks.

According to Kodak, Easyshare: "EasyShare software keeps track of your picture filename and location changes" This is from Kodak: http://www.kodak.com/eknec/PageQueri...q-locale=en_US

That's helpful information, though I'm still leery of relocating the MyPictures folder to another drive, especially when the W2K Install placed it on C:, as a subset of MyDocuments....

Fear not, MT! I do it all the time when setting up hdd's with multiple partitions. I like to move the My Documents folder to some other partition in case of a need to reformat. You don't lose the data on the other partitions that way. Just right click, drag, drop and select "Move Here" - simple as that.

Nope. That'll leave the original files intact and merely create a copy in a new location. The Kodak program will continue to add files to the existing folder. You have to Move the destination folder, that creates a new path.

If you want to move the entire My Documents, the correct way is to right click on it, select Properties, then Move. This preserves all links to the structure.
