.NET Framwork

I seriously had no idea where to put this because i guess it can deal with all the windows OS's out there. Hope i posted in the right place

I have lately been trying to learn visual basic, c, c++ and c# in that order and im taking it step by step. I came across this video http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/ex...er2/begin7/vb/ from the microsoft website but im having trouble understanding something. From what i understood... do every single programs like games and other applications on windows use the .net framework to run? Or, can you have programs which dont use .net framework? When i use microsoft visual studio to create a windows application i see the .net framework everywhere in the program if you get what im saying.

Thanks

VB, C, and C++ don't need the .NET framework.

C# and VB.NET do.
