in search for conversion software

I'm looking for a program that will take in any video (.mpeg, etc.) and convert it to .wmv. Preferbly something free if possible. Anyone know of a program that works well?

if you are using Windows XP:

try "Moviemaker" program that come with the OS, it can convert a lot of formats to wmv.
it is a bit slow, but free.
just import the file to moviemaker then save it to ".wmv" format, thats it.
