Run time errors
I recently purchased the WinTV-PVR 150 and installed it on my computer, I'm having various problems with the software. When I click the icon I get an error message which says " This application has requested the runtime to terminate it in and unusual way." can anyone help.

May we have your specs and your operating system please.
Is there an online manual for the PVR software that any of us can download? For now uninstall the software till we figure out what's going on.

One of the causes of runtime errors is running out of system resources for a program.
Your processor is a shade below the requirement of 1.2 but while you have twice the required ram the fact is that XP doesn't come into its' own with less than 512mb. Try running the program again but treat it like you would a PC game your system can't quite support and close out all other processes you can. If you get it working then you'll know what the problem is. Also make sure WDM drivers from ATI/AMD are installed for your 9200. ATI/AMD is now treating the 9200 as a legacy card since the last catalyst set for it was in November of last year, Catalyst 6.11 . |

I'm not understanding what you mean when you say run the program like a PC game, please explain.

Your computer is borderline, your processor is below the minimum spec (not greatly but enough), for running the WinTV-PVR card.
One possible solution is to close out all unnecessary processes/programs that run in the background when you attempt to run WinTV. This is something that's done with computers that are having problems running games. What you're doing is closing out anything that you don't need that drains resources. For instance, you don't need a firewall or anti-virus to record a tv show. |

I have closed out the programs running in background and check the processes but when I tried to close out some of them I got a warning message saying that it may be harmful to my computer. I click the icon for the WinTV and the error message came on again, but I click two more times and it finally went though. When I log off the WinTV I get those error messages then I finally log on. What is going on with it now?

You've freed up a little more processing power and you PC is struggling to meet the spec for the TV card but it's not getting there.
