K-Lite crashing computer

I just transfered my computer into a new case and the hard drive my OS was on must have been hit with ESD or something but it would not boot to it or format. I installed windows on a different hard drive and everything was working fine. I went to install the K-Lite codec pack and whenever I do windows crashes. I have tried downloading the pack from different sources, different versions and all so far have crashed my computer. I run other executables to install other software without a problem. Please help me solve this problem.
