WMP won't play embedded files in Firefox

I did a search for this, but the threads I found either didn't help or didn't work, so I'm sorry if this is a little repetitive :/

basically windows media player won't play embedded videos in firefox. I've got version 2.0.0.4. of firefox, and the newest version of wmp.

For example, on the maple leafs' site, I tried to watch some old games and they gave me this message:

Quote:
This player functions best in Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher.

If you can read this you do not have the most recent plugin for Windows Media Player installed for your browser. Please update your browser and try again, or try using Internet Explorer.

TIA!

You can tell Firefox to open selected sites in IE.
Try IE Tab : https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1419
I use it for Movie Link and for manually downloading updates from Microsoft's pages but it should work for this as well.

edit : I'm working on the assumption that you're running XP or 2K. If you're running Linux this won't work in emulation.

I'd forgotten about that plug-in. Should work now. Oh, and yes I'm running XP; sorry I didn't clarify.

Thanks pam!
