There have been reports of that happening when Nero is used to burn music from iTunes.
I won't be able to check that till later today and I'll post back what I find out.

OK there are two solutions for the problem.

If you've never been able to burn then read through this : http://discussions.apple.com/thread....6028&tstart=45

Go over to Gear and get the right drivers for your OS (32 bit unless you do have the 64 bit OS) : http://www.gearsoftware.com/support/drivers.cfm

If your problem started with 7.3/7.3.1 update but 7.2 worked for you then go back to it.

You have XP Pro, in your signature, XP 64 is entirely another operating system.

hmm...i installed the 32bit drivers, restarted itunes and still doesn't work. I have itunes 7.3.1.3 version. again, this is the first time ive tried burning so i have no idea if it would work with previous versions. why wouldnt it work with this version anyways? I have nero installed and a lite on cd burner.

When you go into burning, under the Preferences tab, is your drive listed or does it say "no supported disk burners found" ?

One more step.
Run the drive diagnostic and please post the results ( all of them) here.
It looks like iTunes and Nero are having an argument in XP (it's happened before) but why isn't clear ( lots of people with the same set-up have no problem).
