Converting from MS-DOS to ASCII???

Hey guys, a friend of my dad's has an old laptop running MS-DOS and she has a document saved in a program called "PFSWrite" that she wants converted to "ASCHI" (I assume she meant ASCII) format for her Windows (XP I believe) computer. She was going to pay someone to have this document or whatever converted. Is there a program I can use to do it instead? I don't know much about this stuff so any input would be greatly appreciated.

Send a message via AIM to sgtspector
Have her open the document and then save it as an ascii text document. If that doesn't work maybe she open the document and select all the text and copy and paste into a word document.

The document is on the old MS-DOS laptop, not the PC running Windows.

PFS was a pain, but if I remember correctly it has the capability of storing as text. What Sgt. is saying is to open it in PFS and save it from PFS into a .txt file. It has been over 5 years since I've used it, so the memory may be faulty.
If it works that way, she can then copy it to a floppy. Or if it works that way she can save it directly to the floppy.

The problem is I've not seen either of her computers before and I have never worked with DOS or converting formats. I had thought of putting it on a floppy but I don't know if something as ancient as an MS-DOS laptop would even have a floppy...

It won't be that much different. Plus she knows DOS. Just see if she can open them on her machine and save them in an ASCII format to a floppy. The open the text file in Word, format it properly and save it.

You will be a computer genius in no time if you hang around here.
