Flash ad banner question
I have been usig a program called webwasher for severel years now since windows95, and i like it but its no longer developed. What im looking is for a small app that can get rid of ads and flash ads, thats the problem with webwasher it does not remove flashads.
I have been browsing for a prog like this but most are spyprograms or similar. Can anyone recomend a program that is small but yet powerfull and spyware free. I like the function that you can right click on the ad you want to get rid off with webwasher, or ad it to its list manualy. thanks.

What browser do you use? I use Firefox, and with it you can install different add-ons to increase functionality. One of my favorites is Adblock Plus. Once added to Firefox, it downloads a list of known advertising sites and automatically blocks them. It also gives a small tab on ads that it missed, and it allows you to choose to block them in the future as well.

peekaboo,
We've all got preferences (mine are fierce) but shadopwr told you "his" was IE and that was what he asked for assistance with.

i read posts by people asking something about nortons and getting the "don't use nortons" advice/mantra. i can't think of better advice to give an IE user than switching to FF. in any case, it was said in jest (although i still think it's the way to go) and i believe he wasn't offended so all is good (right?). |

If he's OK with it no problem but the reason is that not everyone gets it.
Unless there's a specific reason to recommend one browser over the other, you can't use the web site you need or there's a security problem, it's a non-issue ( Of course if you're asked... . ). |
