Free Microsoft word? Or the likes?

Hey is there anywhere to get like Microsoft Office, or word for free? or a program that is like it? I'm not talking about cracks or hacks, maybe like if Microsoft lets people download the older versions for free. Any ideas?

That gives you a word processor and a spreadsheet program. I haven't used it though.

Also if you need MS Office in a pinch, you can always download a trial version for 60 days or so.

If you need the real thing, you can buy the student and teacher edition for a fraction of the full suite price and I think it still lets you install it on 3 PC's.

I also rate Open Office. I've not managed to grasp some of it's differences with MS Office just yet but on the most part it is a fantastic free alternative.

If you just need a word processor then get AbiWord : http://www.abisource.com/

It's a free program and it's compatible with OpenOffice or MS Office.
