You didn't get a proper and complete uninstall. You still have components running. Reinstall it then uninstall it again.

i should have mentioned this was the free 30 day trial software. Uninstalling does not work, it won't go away. probably a protection measure so you can't use another 30 day free trial. the only option available when I tried to re-install the program was to remove (which isn't really removing anything)
I guess i'll call their tech support line and ask how to fix it. Any ideas?? If this doesn't work I think I'll re-install Windows after wiping the hard drive clean.

Call them.
You likely skipped a "read me" at some point so now you know, no installs/uninstalls without reading . That said, you have a legitimate beef with these guys; they're wrong to do this with trial versions, it harms the potential buyer more then it harms the 'cracker'. |

Question - why did you install a 30 day trial in the first place? Just because it's on your motherboard CD doesn't mean you have to install it........
Your beef is with Asus, not Trend Micro. |

it wasn't on my motherboard CD. I downloaded it because it was better than nothing (or so I thought) for the time before I chose an internet security suite to buy (or download a free program)
Now I know. |
