You didn't get a proper and complete uninstall. You still have components running. Reinstall it then uninstall it again.

i should have mentioned this was the free 30 day trial software. Uninstalling does not work, it won't go away. probably a protection measure so you can't use another 30 day free trial. the only option available when I tried to re-install the program was to remove (which isn't really removing anything)

I guess i'll call their tech support line and ask how to fix it.

Any ideas?? If this doesn't work I think I'll re-install Windows after wiping the hard drive clean.

Call them.

You likely skipped a "read me" at some point so now you know, no installs/uninstalls without reading .

That said, you have a legitimate beef with these guys; they're wrong to do this with trial versions, it harms the potential buyer more then it harms the 'cracker'.

Question - why did you install a 30 day trial in the first place? Just because it's on your motherboard CD doesn't mean you have to install it........

Your beef is with Asus, not Trend Micro.

it wasn't on my motherboard CD. I downloaded it because it was better than nothing (or so I thought) for the time before I chose an internet security suite to buy (or download a free program)

Now I know.
