Question for the Excel guru's. Office XP 2003... Can you pull data from a cell of another *.xls file? we've already tried the workbooks, but it doesn't work as planned. If I need to go into detail about what i'm wanting to do, let me know, but basically I'm just wanting to know this simple task, and if it is possible then how to go about doing it. Thanks....

Pulling for other worksheets is a piece of cake.
=+Sheet2!A1 (while in sheet one, click the + sign and go to sheet two and hit the enter key) This formula would pull info from sheet two cell A1 to whatever cell you where in, in Sheet one.

not from another sheet, from another file altogether.
![]() for instance, cell A1 from Sheet1 in File1.xls needs to always pull info in cell B2 from Sheet1 in File2.xls |

Guessing you need more then what coping and pasting will do...
Same exact steps that I mentioned above will work. =+[SampleImportTemplate5.2WithData.xls]Property!$A$2 I opened two spreadsheets....While in one cell A1, I clicked the plus sign and drilled down to the second spreadsheet called Sample.... and sheet called Property and went to cell A2. Hit the enter key..... |
