Question Print Screen

I am not sure if I lost it, or maybe I never had it but I need to be able to a print screen to help get a rebate on some Anti Vitus I just purchased.

My info:
Computer; A Dell laptop
OS; Windows XP with all updates

Print screen is something that I do not do often, so I can't remember how to go there.

Thanks for your help

Using Irfanview to do a screen capture is just as easy. It's a free image editing program. Save it as a jpeg.

If you still want to use Print Screen go look on the top right of the keyboard , the set of three keys just past F12.
The first of them is the PrtSc (print screen) key.
That will send the "screen capture" to the clip board and you can save it in Paint : All Programs> Accessories>Paint, as a jpg.
Either way works but Irfanview has more uses. It's the better of the two programs but if all you need is a screen capture for a rebate it may be more than you want.

With the window of what you want to capture open, hit the Print Screen key (hitting Alt key and then the Print Screen key will just capture the open window...hitting the Print Screen key by itself captures the whole desktop) and then open a image viewing program (Paint, Irfan View, etc...), in the Menu Bar of the image viewing program click on Edit and then click on Paste to place the captured image in the viewer. Then click on File and Save (or Save As) to save the image file to your hard drive.
