Data compressors / Archivers

Can someone give me the name of a decent, and free, archiver / compressor? I had WINRAR but it stopped working after the 40 day trial period.

Cheers Chaps

I used zip when it was shareware and now I use winrar ( Yes I paid for both. I don't object to doing so. ).
Keep us posted on your use of 7zip .
I can't be the only one thinking this merits more attention then it's been getting.
More files and larger hard drives doesn't translate into less need for compression ( we'll all be archiving soon enough ) and this is how we keep track.

I found a program called ISArc, it's totally free, and works great.

The zip program built into XP runs fine and the price is right

7zip does a better job at compressing but the trade off is that it takes longer to do it...

7Zip also slows my computer down a massive amount.

Its OK though, i just registered WinRar...im familiar with it, and i prefer it from 7-zip.

Thanks guys
