I got no idea, I have been using version 5 for many years and keep doing the updates for it and has always done a fine jobe for the things I wanted to do.

but with my new laptop it would not support the burner it has, so I up graded to the version 8 and it has the support for ANY burned, cd and dvd.
it took a long time to download the trial version, I installed it and it worked great, so then I tried to buy the ticeness key to make it the full version, but it took aver 1.5 hrs to go through the purchase at the online store, I was getting worried as to why it was taking sooo long, but as soon as it varified my payment, I instantly had a e-mail with the key and it is all ok now.

it 's just that I have never ever seen any on-line purchase take so long to run through the process.

Might be too many people upgrading... I've used Nero since the early days, but was not that happy with V 6 (it was very buggy) and V 7 didn't thrill me, either. Maybe 8 will get me back as a believer if I keep hearing good reports like yours, bailey...

TR, version 6.6 is pretty decent. The early 6 was quite buggy.

The retail package I picked up was indeed 6.0... I did some patches, but don't remember if I hung on till 6.6. Then someone (I think PR) posted a link to the super upgrade (or what ever it was called) and nobody seemed to like it, and several uninstalled the upgrade. I never tried it.

All that said, I really would like if 8 was a hit, as I have been a Nero fan for a long time and would like it to (re) take off.
