E-mail notice

Hi Gang

Does any one know of a free/or close, e-mail notification, verifying received notice program, out there. There are a lot of them but most will not work with Yahoo mail. I know some people kind of think this is a sneaky thing to use, but I am getting tired of sending people notices, or what ever and not knowing if they are not replying back because that don't get it or what. With so much spam/spam filters out there I think a lot of e-mails are getting caught in these, and the people are not checking them from time to time.

Thanx and take care........Gunny

Email

Use a free email that has pop3 access. Then set it up with Outlook or Thunderbird. You will be able to set parameters such as read receipt. Gmail and hotmail can both be configured with these programs. Thunderbird can be downloaded free from this LINK. It is mozzilas version of outlook. Enjoy!

Read receipts, etc. don't work unless the user specifically chooses to send one.
Additionally, other "sneaky" methods used include embedding an empty image in the body of the message which alerts a web server when downloaded, hence indicating it has been read. These are easily circumvented by disabling download of remote images. Since this is a technique spammers use most, email clients have remote images disabled by default.

The short answer is there is no way for you to know the user has read the email unless they accept your read receipt/remote image manually.
