Dual boot (XP + Vista)

If i were to do this, would this effect the performance and quickness of the PC such as starting up, loading the OS up, (logging in) and gaming?

Other than the delay it takes for you to select an OS from the menu (or have the default one loaded) nothing else changes... PROVIDED you aren't going to try something crazy like having both of them sit on the same partition.
