Weird problem

So When I try to run Adobe Auditon it starts to load but in the middle of loading it just shuts down and exits with no error message.

I installed the softwear on another computer and it works fine. So what I am wondering is, is there maybe a weird security setting or something that may be blocking this softwear from running?

Thanks-

Without knowing what running on the computer we can't tell you.
Did this just start, that is you ran program successfully before on that computer, or are you unable to install and run it on that machine period?

If it's the latter, and the computer meets the required specs, then the first thing to check is your security software and it's settings.
If it's the former then what changed on the machine since the last time it ran ?

sorry I forgot to put my specs

Windows XP pro
intel D945Pvs MOB
Intel PD90 2.8 Ghz 800MHz FSB
2 GB ddr2 RAM
Samsung 120 Gb SATA HD
Samsung 300 GB SATA HD

I have ran this program on my laptop for a while but with the diting getting a little more intense I needed to run on a machine that can handle the load. So thats when I tried to install it on the above mentioned comp.

The last thing I updated was my windows media player

It should run but you're being blocked.
This is a check permissions deal, so start with your security software (and tell us what it is, please).
Remember to do all updates.

WMP 11 has given me problems but I have no way of knowing if it's the reason for yours.

I am running avast home version and I think it may have to do something with WMP because I think this program nay run on WMP9 but i am not sure.

Is there a way I can go back to WMP 9 instead of the enwest version?

To check if Avast interfers with Adobe Audition you can post to the Avast forum : http://forum.avast.com/index.php?board=2.0
It's doubtful though.

WMP 9 is about 5 years out of date and if you haven't updated that in so long did you check for updates/patches for Adobe Audition when you installed it on the desktop ?

But I would think that WMP 11 would be able support WMP9. I am running the same avast home edition on my laptop and it works just fine. There are new versions of the program but you have to pay for it. This program works great for me when i can get it started. Its just really weird that it works wonders on one computer and wont load onto another.

The media player changes don't work that way.
For instance I've used MovieLink since Media Player 9 but every update of Media Player has required a completely new version of MovieLink and a call to tech support to get it running again.

MovieLink is a free download but you're likely right that Audition will have a new version out.
