Desperate explorer problem :(

Hey, i hope i posted the thread in the right forum,

it has occured to me lately that when i right click on an mp3 file in my desktop (not necessaryly in the desktop even in other folders) an error window appears saying:

Windows Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

when i click for more information about the error i get

AppName: explorer.exe AppVer: 6.0.2900.3156 ModName: kernel32.dll
ModVer: 5.1.2600.3119 Offset: 00032b04


this is very frustrating a si have browsed and over browsed all other servers on the net, and i was told to leave a post here.. this is my last hope plz help me, i work with music and the disability of editing wil lcost me alot

Update your security programs and run a scan for malware.
Also disable restore and run disk clean up to dump any temporary files.

That done re-enable restore and try right clicking again.

Turn off system restore.

Before that, you could try going back to a date in system restore before you had this problem.

i already tried to do a system restore but invain.... i also tried to remove the send/ don't send error report status setting but still....

Just turn it off for now.
The thing is that that error is often associated with trojans and one of the places trojans hang out is in system restore.
What about the malware scan and the disk clean up ?

i will run a system check with avg and adaware and spybot , is that enough? btw iturned off system restore
